The anti-corruption bureau (ACB) of Pune division caught a traffic police naik, Rajendra Ramesh Adhav, red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs4,000 from a Tempo driver involved in a road accident at Mariaai Gate police chowki in Khadki on Monday afternoon.

Haribhau Jadhav (42) filed a complaint with ACB.

According to the ACB, on November 11, Jadhav was driving a Tempo that hit a motorcyclist Shivcharan Bhise on the Sangamwadi bridge and injured him.

Jadhav told Mariaai police chowki about the mishap. Adhav lodged a complaint against Jadhav, arrested him, and seized his Tempo on November 12.  After his release on bail, Jadhav approached Adhav for releasing his vehicle. An ACB officer said that Adhav demanded Rs4,000 from Jadhav.
