While the aviation sector is facing decline in passengers, two international carriers AirAsia and Air France have come up with offers to stimulate demand. AirAsia is offering three million seats minus fuel surcharge and administration fees while Air France is auctioning 380 seats each on its two Paris-New York inaugural flights.
Passengers planning a holiday to Kuala Lumpur can take advantage of AirAsia’s recent online offer where they can travel to destinations within Malaysia for as low as RM9 (RM 1 = Rs 13.6). “Guests can fly from Kuala Lumpur to domestic destinations such as Penang, Johor Bahru and many more from as low as RM9,” said an official from AirAsia.
AirAsia a low-cost carrier operates flight from Tiruchirapalli in India to KL for which one-way fare is as low as Rs 1190. “Having recently abolished the administration and fuel surcharges, guests now only have to fork out for a low fare and the relevant airport tax,” he says.
TIckets cane be booked for travel period from 11 January 2010 - 31 July.
Similarly, Air France has announced auction of 380 seats on each of its two inaugural Airbus A380 flights, operating from Paris to New York/JFK on November 20, 2009 and New York/JFK to Paris on November 21, 2009. This online auction will take place on October 2009. The flights will operate commercially from November 23 and its bookings are open now.
