Two killed in road mishaps in Pune

The Hinjewadi police have arrested the driver of the speeding vehicle, Manoj Ramchandra Kumbhar (28) of Kolhapur.

Two people died in the city in different road mishaps under the Hinjewadi  police station. A 25-year-old unidentified pedestrian was killed after he was mowed down by a speeding Tavera near Sadanand Hotel on the Pune-Bangalore highway on Sunday morning.

The Hinjewadi police have arrested the driver of the speeding vehicle, Manoj Ramchandra Kumbhar (28) of Kolhapur.
The police said the victim, who was hit while trying to cross the road, was rushed to a hospital, but declared brought dead by doctors.

In a second accident at Gavarwadi in Hinjewadi, motorcyclist Mahesh Vishwnath Salekar (30) died after he was knocked down by an unidentified truck. The police said the victim was riding his bike towards Hinjewadi when the mishap occurred.
The Hinjewadi police have lodged a complaint against the unidentified truck driver.
