Normally a meeting of party MPs is held just ahead of Parliament session but in this case, the winter session is almost three weeks away, so there was speculation over the reason for calling the meeting.

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray on Friday met party MPs and legislators amid reports of deteriorating health of saffron outfit's patriarch Bal Thackeray but said it had nothing to do with his father's condition.

"Everybody is concerned about Shiv Sena chief's health. Even I am concerned about his health. He is undergoing medical treatment. But there is nothing like what you are thinking," Uddhav told reporters after the meeting.

It was a pre-planned meeting, he said. "The meeting had been called to apprise MPs and MLAs about certain issues. They should take up these issues in the coming sessions of Parliament and state Assembly," he said.

Uddhav also said that his estranged cousin and MNS leader Raj Thackeray and Maharashtra PWD Minister Chhagan Bhujbal -- a former Shiv Sena leader -- called on the octogenarian Bal Thackeray yesterday out of their affection for him.

"Shiv Sena supremo is considered God by the Shiv Sainiks. Yesterday, Raj and Bhujbal came to meet him. Today also Raj phoned to enquire about his health....They are concerned because they love him," he said.

The meeting of legislators this morning set off speculation about Thackeray's health, because normally such meeting is called only a few days before the Parliament session starts. Thackeray hadn't been able to attend the annual Dussehra rally of Sena and later said that he was in a bad shape.

Asked whether he himself would be undergoing another heart surgery -- following the angioplasty in July -- Uddhav said, "I will have to undergo surgeries in phases."
