Dahisar man killed for refusing to marry off daughter to his 22-year-old employee.

A 22-year-old man murdered his employer on Tuesday in Dahisar (East) after he refused to allow him to marry his daughter. The youth was arrested.

According to the police, Brijesh Chouhan stabbed 36-year-old Joginder Chouhan’s neck with a knife at the latter’s residence in Sai Krupa mahila welfare society at Shanti Nagar around 1am.

Brijesh used to assist Joginder in his garland-making business and lived with him. Both of them are natives of Uttar Pradesh and are related to each other.
Brijesh got in touch with Joginder’s daughter, who lives in their hometown, and wished to marry her.

“When Joginder came to know about Brijesh’s interest in his daughter, he rejected the proposal. Brijesh tried to convince Joginder to no avail,” said senior inspector Ansar Peerzade from Dahisar police station. Brijesh, who was very upset with the refusal, then decided to murder Joginder.

The police are now investigating the matter to find out if Brijesh had any other motive to commit the crime.

The accused has been sent to police custody by the court. The police will also be recording the statements of neighbours and family members of the deceased to find out if there was animosity between Joginder and Brijesh.
