With the withdrawal of the south-west monsoon from the state, the night temperature in Pune and surrounding districts has dipped by 4 degree Celsius.
The withdrawal of monsoon also has witnessed a decrease in humidity and beginning of dry winds blowing across the state.
Since the last couple of days, though there is no dip in the day temperature, night temperature — which is normally 17 degree Celsius — has dipped.
Speaking to DNA, AB Mazumdar, deputy director general of meteorology at India Metereology Department (IMD) said, “The chilly northerly winds have also contributed to the sudden dip in the night temperature.’’
Due to withdrawal of the south-west monsoon, there is mainly dry and clear weather across the state which has brought the temperature below normal, Mazumdar said.
The city would experience temperatures of around 13 degree Celsius as an easterly trough (low pressure area) has formed over the Arabian Sea, bringing some moisture over the region.
According to IMD’s daily weather report, mainly dry weather would prevail over Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.
