Workshop on Community Radio from Nov 26 in Mumbai

The workshop, 'Community Radio – Tuning into Diversity' will provide participants with the opportunity to hear first-hand experience of speakers and experts of such stations.

A two-day workshop on Community Radio (CR) will be organised from November 26 at the Kamla Raheja Institute of Architecture and Environmental study here, organisers said today.

During the workshop titled 'Community Radio – Tuning into Diversity', participants will have the opportunity to hear first-hand experience of speakers, including practitioners who are already running CR stations as well as experts on the regulatory, technical and other aspects of running a station, one of the organisers of Comet Media Foundation said.

Some of the speakers include Aditeshwar Seth of Gram Vaani, IIT Delhi, Amol Goje of Vasundhara Vahini Community Radio, Baramati (Maharashtra), Anuja Shukla from Radio Bundelkhand Development Alternatives at Orchha (UP), Bharati Ahire of Radio Ujjas of Kutch Mahila Vikas Sanghatan, Bhuj (Gujarat), Ram Bhat of Maraa, Bangalore, Sajan Veniyoor of Community Radio Forum, an India-wide network and Richard Rego, Radio Sarang, Mangalore.

The workshop has been organised by Comet Media Foundation in partnership with the Media Information and Communication Centre of India, Frederich Ebert Stiftung and Centre for the Advancement of Philanthropy.
