Youths snatch bag with Rs21.5 lakh in Pune

A bag containing Rs21.5 lakh was snatched by two youths on a motorcycle on Monday night at Tulshibaugwale Colony in Sahakarnagar.

A bag containing Rs21.5 lakh was snatched by two youths on a motorcycle on Monday night at Tulshibaugwale Colony in Sahakarnagar. The incident took place in the presence of a former assistant commissioner of police, Shyam Pawar.

Maniuddin Shaikh (42) of Dhankavdi filed a complaint with Duttawadi police station. Shaikh works as a driver for businessman Ashok Lodha. Lodha had taken along cash as he went to Chakan for a land deal along with Pawar and Shaikh.

The incident occurred while they were returning to Lodha's house. Police inspector (crime) Dipak Aarwe said, “The trio parked in front of Tritharaj medical store near Tulshibaugwale Colony. When they were taking the bag out of the car's boot, the youths snatched the bag and fled.”
