A group of international comedians, style gurus and standups will perform at the Bandra Amphitheatre this Saturday. What do they share in common? They're all YouTube stars, artists who have over a million subscribers on their channels and have made it big because of their broadcasts on the video-sharing website.

These include comedian Superwoman from Canada, Vsauce from UK and style guru Bethany Mota from the US. The event is being held for fans to meet their favourite stars.

The event also aims at giving relatively unknown YouTube icons a chance to increase their fan base in India.

One of the artists who will be performing is US-based clarinetist Shankar Tucker. “YouTube is the sole cause for any success that I have. It is an amazing platform and I think will lead the way for a lot of brilliant music and artists,” says Shankar.

The event will also include performances from 19-year-old Indian YouTube sensation Shraddha Sharma, who has 10.3 millions views in total, on her own; as well as Indian YouTube comedy sensation, The Viral Fever.

The most-talked about performer is Canadian comedian Superwoman whose Mumbai visit even ensured she was trending on Twitter India.

17-year-old Afreen Thanevala, a Mumbai based student, believes herself to be a passionate Superwoman fan. “People like her have the ability to make your day better via a simple video. Several underestimate the amount of effort that goes into such amusing and witty videos that YouTubers upload frequently.”

The FanFest has already finished an edition at Singapore last year. For those who cannot make it to the event, the performances will be live-streamed on the website.

What was the Singapore edition like?
The Singapore edition was a mammoth success and saw a combination of performances and education, in the form of a music festival as well as a conference. It featured a performance from Grammy winning Aerosmith guitarist, Joe Perry.
