Central government employees are not required to submit their boarding pass or ticket while claiming their Travel Allowance.

In important news for the central government employees, the government has changed the Travel Allowance (TA) claim rule. Central government employees are not required to submit their boarding pass or ticket while claiming their TA. This comes as a huge relief for a government employee who has lost his Boarding Pass or ticket. Now, he or she will only have to submit a self-declaration form informing that he has travelled during a particular period. Earlier, Boarding Pass and travel tickets were necessary to claim one's TA.

As per the latest communication from the Department of Personnel, now there is no need for the central government employees to submit their boarding Pass or travel ticket to claim their TA.

In the self-declaration form, the employee will have to mention that he or she has lost the Boarding Pass or travel ticket and hence won't be able to submit bills in support of the TA claim.

The employee will have to submit bills along with the TA form duly signed by the Head of the Department (HoD). This is necessary for Under Secretary levels or below level employees under the Seventh Pay Commission and has a pay scale below Level-10 under the 7th CPC (Central Pay Commission) pay matrix.

The Finance Ministry has already said that keeping in mind the basic salary or pension of central employees, DA can be announced. The expenditure of DA and DR (Dearness Relief) is Rs 12,510 crore annually but after the increase, it is estimated to reach Rs 14,595 crore.

Union Labour Office has declared the AICPI (All India Consumer Price Index) data which hints that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre would announce at least 4 per cent hike in the DA.
