The rules issued by the DoT clearly state that one citizen can issue only up to 9 mobile numbers connected to one Aadhaar card.

If you want to how many phone numbers have been issued in your name then fret not, as the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched a new portal that will help you to check the sim cards that have been issued against your Aadhaar card.

The service is called the 'Telecom Analytics for Fraud Management and Consumer Protection' (TAFCOP). The rules issued by the Department of Telecommunications clearly state that one citizen can issue only up to 9 mobile numbers connected to one Aadhaar card

The portal is helpful as it aids in ensuring the safety of the citizens. If you report the mobile numbers that are no longer in use then they will be discontinued to prevent fraudulent activity on your Aadhaar card-related facilities.

Here is a step-by-step guide to check and verify the mobile numbers registered against your Aadhaar card

Step 1: Open the official website of TAFCOP - https://tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in/

Step 2: Enter your mobile number and request an OTP.

Step 3: Enter OTP and validate yourself to sign in to the portal.

Step 4: Complete the sign-in process.

Step 5: You will then be taken to a page where you can see all the different mobile numbers that have been linked to your specific Aadhaar card.

Note: If you see numbers that are out of the use or you don't recognise then report them so they can be removed from your Aadhaar card.

The TAFCOP portal 'About' section reads, "Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has taken several measures to ensure proper allocation of telecom resources by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) to subscribers and protect their interests in ensuring reduction of frauds. As per existing guidelines, individual mobile subscribers can register up to nine mobile connections in their name."

It further states, "This website has been developed to help subscribers, check the number of mobile connections working in their name, and take necessary action for regularising their additional mobile connections if any. However, the primary responsibility of handling the Customer Acquisition Form (CAF) lies with the service providers."
