Learn how to update your Aadhaar for free as UIDAI extends the deadline to December 14, 2023.

Good news for Aadhaar cardholders! The deadline for upgrading Aadhaar information for free has been extended by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). The deadline, which was initially scheduled for September 14, 2023, has now been advanced by three months to December 14, 2023, as formally announced.

In a notification, UIDAI shared its intention to promote more individuals to keep their Aadhaar information up to date through the myAadhaar portal. Due to the positive response from citizens, the authority has chosen to extend this opportunity for three additional months, starting from September 15 until December 14. Consequently, the myAadhaar portal will continue to offer free document updates until December 14.

UIDAI urges updates for 10-year-old Aadhaar cards:

UIDAI is encouraging Aadhaar cardholders aged 10 or older to ensure their Aadhaar details reflect the most current information. The instructions provided on the UIDAI website advise individuals to update their demographic information accurately. To achieve this, they must upload identity and address proof certificates. In addition to updating names and addresses, citizens are requested to update any changes related to their relatives, such as marriage or death.

Now, until December 14, all these updates can be made free of charge on the UIDAI website. Alternatively, you can also visit a Common Services Center (CSC) to complete these tasks, but it involves a nominal fee of Rs 25.
