As per the recent update of the Government of India, pensioners who are 80 years and below will have to submit their life certificates or Jeevan Pramaan Patra before November 30. A life certificate is required to determine if the person who is to receive the pension is still alive and they continue to receive their pension without any problem.
Regarding this, the State Bank of India (SBI) has come up with a new video calling facility where certificates can be submitted via video conferencing. Now, senior citizens will not have to go all the way to government offices and present themselves physically to receive the pension.
On November 1, SBI tweeted, "Now submit your #LifeCertificate from the comfort of your home! Our #VideoLifeCertificate service launching on will allow pensioners to submit their life certificates through a simple video call."
An individual who has an account with SBI can avail this service. The individual also needs to have their mobile number registered with Aadhaar and the same number needs to be present in the pension application.
Here's how you can use this service:
- Visit www.pensionseva.sbi
- Select 'Video LC' to start the video life certificate submission process
- Enter SBI pension account number, Captcha and
- Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number and click on Submit
- On the new page, click on the 'Start Journey' option and click on 'I Am Ready' option
- Keep your PAN with you at this time
Once you are granted the service of the video call, you will be able to interact with the SBI official. After this, you need to submit the 4-digit verification number displayed on the screen to the SBi official who will, in turn, capture your photo with your PAN card and complete the process of life certificate submission process.
