Over the years, the Aadhaar card has become one of the most important documents known to Indians. It's not just an identification document anymore, from investing in government schemes to bank-related work, it is required at every step. But carrying the Aadhaar everywhere can be risky and one might now want to lose it. To tackle this problem, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) introduced an app called the 'mAadhaar' where you can access your Aadhaar card at all times.
The mAadhaar app allows you to make three profiles in one account and helps you access your information anywhere. The app is available on Android and iOS phones. The app allows the user to have complete security and makes sure that it keeps the information safe.
Here's how you can download the mAadhaar App:
- Go to Google Play and install mAadhaar
- Click on Allow for the required permission for the mAadhaar app
- Once the app is installed, you can set a password to protect your information.
Here's how you can Lock Biometrics in your mAadhaar App:
- Go to your profile on the mAadhaar app and tap on Menu and click 'Biometric Settings'
- Enable the Biometric Lock option
- Once you do that, a disclaimer will appear informing you that the biometrics may still be used for the next six hours.
- Click on 'ok' and an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
- Enter the OTP and your biometric will immediately get locked
Here's what to do if you want to unlock your Biometric:
- On the mAadhaar App click on Menu and click 'Biometric Settings'
- You will see a message, 'Your biometrics will be temporarily unlocked'
- If you wish to continue then click on yes and your biometric will be unlocked for 10 minutes
