RehabTech Asia( http://rehabtechasia.com ), in conjunction with the 2nd Singapore Rehabilitation Conference( http://www.singaporerehab.com.sg/programme_day1.shtml )and the 1st Asia Pacific NeuroRehabilitation Symposium( http://www.singaporerehab.com.sg/programme_day3.shtml ), will take place from 27 February to 1 March 2013 at Singapore EXPO Convention & Exhibition Centre. The RESNA Fundamentals in Assistive Technology course will also be conducted.

Exhibition will be dynamic marketplace for rehabilitation industry professionals

Organised by Singex Exhibition Ventures Pte Ltd, RehabTech Asia is the Asian extension of the ReaTech series of successful exhibitions serving the disabled communities in Europe and South America.It will be an international showcase of assistive devices, homecare & nursing aids, mobility solutions, orthotics & prosthetics, and rehabilitation robotics. Conference and Symposium to raise regional standards of rehabilitation care

The Conference, organised by Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore General Hospital, features plenary lectures, concurrent sessions and scientific paper presentations by renowned international academics and practitioners, including Prof Dr Li Jian An (China) and Professor Robert Teasell (Canada). The Symposium, a sister event of the International NeuroRehabilitation Symposium held in Switzerland since 2004, consists presentations on acute treatments for neurological patients, such as those with stroke and spinal cord or traumatic brain injuries, by experts including Prof Dr Andreas Luft and Prof Dr Robert Reiner (Switzerland). These events will be significant knowledge exchange platforms for meaningful discussions among professionals to raise Asia's standards of rehabilitation care.

Supporting the frail elderly and persons with disabilities in Asia

The number of elderly persons is expected to grow to 857 million by 2050[1], so there are growing demands for long-term healthcare and heightened interest in self-determined living. RehabTech Asia is therefore a timely platform not just for the provision of solutions to support increasing care requirements of Asia, but also all stakeholders to discuss ways to provide better access to opportunities for personal growth and quality of life for persons with disabilities across Asia.
