RICS Signed Memorandum of Co-operation with JAREC
HONG KONG, Nov. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) signed a Memorandum of Co-operation (MoC) with Japan Association of Real Estate Counselors (JAREC) based in Japan on 7 November in Hong Kong. The two leading professional bodies agreed to act in the public interest by building confidence and trust in their respective memberships, and fostering co-operation between the two bodies. This MoC agreement between RICS and JAREC symbolizes the commitment of both organizations in promoting and developing property professionals in Japan.

According to the agreement, the two parties set the plan and work collaboratively on diffusion of professional knowledge, and constructing exchanges and trainings. In accordance with the agreement, the two bodies will support and organize professional events and work together to share and contribute information on industry code of ethics and research. Moreover, the agreement will provide pathways for membership and services through mutual recognition.
RICS President, Alan Collett said, "By establishing a framework for enhanced professional development between our organisations, the MoC allows us to move to the next level in our development of education and professional standards in Japan."
Under the agreement, the two bodies will support and organize professional events and also work together to share and contribute information on industry guidance notes and research, as well as organizing study tours abroad.

Its recent development in Japan has brought global standards and knowledge to the Japanese professionals. We hope this agreement will broaden the opportunities for their global activities."

Japan Association of Real Estate Counselors (JAREC) is a non-profit organization. It supports effective utilization and management of real estate and provides training to real estate counselors.
In 1998, JAREC was first established as a voluntary association under the name of the Japan Society of Real Estate Counselors. It was later accredited as a Specific Non-Profit Organization on 16 March and was formally formed on 3 April 2006.
