Bajaj Auto to give Rs 4.5 Cr fund to COEP for modernization and renovation

After having two family members who passed out of the same department at College of Engineering, Pune (COEP), the Bajaj family decided to give back to their alma mater. As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Bajaj Auto Limited will allocate a total amount of Rs. 4.5 crores to the mechanical engineering department of the institute, in a phase-wise manner.
Signing an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), it made clear that the funding was for the modernisation and renovation of the Mechanical Engineering Department building of the college.

Rahul Bajaj, Chairman Bajaj Auto Limited, was present at the occasion when Rs 50 lakh cheque, as first installment, was handed over to the college, said that he considered COEP among the best engineering institutions in the country.

The College management thanked Rajiv Bajaj and Sanjiv Bajaj for their strong recommendations as they are the alumnus of the college.

Rahul Bajaj further added, "Bajaj Auto is committed to high standards of corporate governance and has aligned itself with the changing environment and legal provisions to contribute for the good of society. The principle of trusteeship enunciated by the Founder of Bajaj Group Late Shri Jamnalal Bajaj is being carried forward with great dedication."
