Bus driver may have been drunk

Surviving passengers have complained that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. “The driver had apparently stopped the bus near the Andhra Pradesh border close to a bar, while passengers slept,” said a source.

One of the female passengers, Dr Jyoti Sushilkumar Terupalli, overheard a conversation between the driver and cleaner about consuming alcohol. She has filed an FIR at the Naldurg police station, stating that the driver paid no heed to requests to slow down the vehicle.
