Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur loves everything and anything about chocolate. In the city to unveil the international favourite ice cream at Oakwood, Kunal spoke about chocolate and its origin. “Every chocolate has its distinctness. Belgian chocolate has the finest quality of cocoa beans - the origins of which are carefully selected and controlled. Beans are processed meticulously and other ingredients of the chocolate like sugar and supportive products are always of standard quality,” he explained.
He went to give on interesting trivia about Belgian chocolates. “Every bite of Belgian chocolate contains minimum 35 per cent of cocoa and is a trend setter of the indulgence movement. Barry Callebaut are the largest chocolate producers in the world. They annually produce 4,40,000 tonnes and contribute 20 per cent of the chocolate production. It’s surprising how we all fail to see chocolate as a vegetable. I remember when I was a child chocolates were like trophies. Any good deed would earn me a chocolate. Had I known chocolate was a vegetable, I would utilise this information to the maximum" he joked.
