The Dange chowk flyover is likely to open for vehicular traffic by the end of December. The flyover is almost ready and only the finishing work is going on.

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) engineering department spokesperson Shrish Poredi told dna on Saturday, “The Dange chowk flyover work is complete. Last phase of the work is being carried out. We are trying our best to open it for vehicular traffic by the end of December.”

The parallel flyovers connects Kalewadi with Ravet at Dange Chowk. The two parallel flyovers crossing Chinchwad-Hinjewadi IT Park road will reduce the traffic burden on both stretches of Kalewadi-Ravet and Chinchwad-Hinjewadi IT Park. The work of the 9.57 km long parallel flyovers at Dange Chowk was going on for last two years. They have been planned to ensure a smooth traffic flow at Dange Chowk as it is one of the busiest junction in Pimpri-Chinchwad connecting Kalewadi and Ravet or Expressway or Chinchwad and Hinjewadi IT Park.

For the last two years, the traffic flow was disturbed due to the ongoing work of the flyover. The commuters especially at Hinjewadi IT Park are early waiting for the flyover to start, which would provide a solution to continuous traffic snarls. The civic officials added that there was delay in completion of work due to monsoon.
