DJ Vispi Manjra to launch second album on May 2.

Manjra’s latest album will be launched on Saturday, May 2, at F Beach, Koregaon Park.

Twenty-nine-year-old DJ Vispi Manjra, much popular among Pune youth, is set to launch his second album titled ‘Midnight Frequencies - Volume 2’. Manjra has been professionally working as a disc jockey (DJ) in Pune, for nearly a decade now.

Speaking with iamin, Manjra said, “I have done a three-month long course in a music institute in Pune. At that time, in 2004, there were very few music institutes as compared to now. Initially, I played at small parties and with time the popularity also increased.”

After receiving positive response from public for his first album, which was released in June 2014, Manjra decided to start working on another project. He recalls, “My first album included the latest songs. However, my second album will be a collection of 90s music.”

Manjra, who was the winner of War of the DJs 2009, Pune, also shared his views on the booming music industry in the city. He said, “Nearly 20 new DJs enter Pune’s music industry, every month, due to the increasing glamour to it. Some DJs play for free as part of their hobby. The competition is getting tough and it is difficult to keep up to the changing choice of listeners.”

According to Manjra, DJs have a better scope in Pune as compared to Mumbai city. He explained, “Pune does not have stringent rules as compared to Mumbai. Therefore, Pune is slowly becoming a party hub and several Mumbaikars come to the city on weekends.”

Manjra’s latest album will be launched on Saturday, May 2, at F Beach, Koregaon Park.
