People usually use these selected numbers to show that they have strong political links. It is also an indirect message to the traffic police not to take action against them.
Fancy number plates have become a trend wherein people choose there number by shelling out extra money. Numbers like 4141 and 6161 are written in a manner resembling DADA, 4912 like Pawar, 2151 like RAJ OR RAJE and 2716 like SATHE. Inspector (planning) MS Gawade of Pune traffic police department, said, “We started the special drive against vehicles who were using fancy number plates from December 3 and so far, have booked 940 vehicles and collected fine of Rs one lakh
