Holiday Inn in Hinjewadi raised alarm over a fake call about a bomb.

An unidentified person made a prank call to Holiday Inn hotel authorities stating that he is going to trigger off the hotel on Thursday afternoon. However, the call was confirmed as a prank after the Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) team checked the hotel.
Police said that it was an Internet call and the case has been given to the Pune Cyber Crime Cell (CCC) to investigate the matter further.
Speaking to dna, senior police inspector PD Patil of Hinjewadi police station said, “The hotel authorities had got a call on their landline phone from an unidentified person threatening to trigger off the hotel on Thursday afternoon. Following which, the hotel authorities immediately alerted the police control. Accordingly, we immediately deployed heavy security to the hotel. Before starting our operation, we first vacated the hotel and thereafter we checked each room of the hotel.”
On being asked the status of the investigation of the call, Patil said, “The caller had made a call from Internet and thus we have asked CCC to probe the case further. We suspect that it was a prank call but still our investigations are on.”
