India's biggest bookstore opened in Pune

Thanks to the well preserved reading culture and love for literature among Punekars, the city will now host the largest bookstore of the country. The 20,000 sq ft bookstore opened yesterday (Saturday) in Aundh that includes an exclusive section dedicated for Marathi and Hindi language books catering to the vast number of regional language readers across the city.

With widespread array of local language books from the genres like history to politics, the store will also have a room for assorted variety of books which are not commonly available from these genres.

Kinjal Shah, CEO, Crossword, informed, "We have chosen Pune as the destination for our biggest bookstore considering the vast amount of readership here. Be it youngsters or senior citizens, Punekars are book lovers and they are known to welcome all types of literature with equal enthusiasm. Moreover, considering the need to explore more amount of children's literature, the store also includes a specialized children's zone for which we have allotted and entire floor. It has a Hogwarts train, a Lego store, a Play Area and even a reading tree, under which children can spend hours reading. It can host activities for a large group of children at a time along with a wide range on national and international literature available for them."

The three- story bookstore will also dedicate an area for numerous social activities and gatherings like free book reading sessions and workshops, public interactions with renowned authors and parent-children activities for the citizens. This store will function as a new age bookstore which focuses on being a community center for society. It also sees an emphasis on recommendations, browsing pleasure and discovering a reader's next read in various categories.
