Pune: Members of ‘Muslim Sanrakshan Hakka Samiti’ NGO have submitted an application to Pune District collector Saurabh Rao on Monday. They sought action against cyber cell police officials and are requesting CCTV cameras in sensitive areas where Muslim population is more. The letter alleges, that for last two days Muslim settlements were targetted, and riot like situation was created. Buses as well as private cars were damaged, and although police was present, no action was taken.

“Blaming Muslims for everything and thus destroying their property has become a common practice now. Muslims are living in constant fear, and its the government’s responsibility to provide them with security. We demand action against negligent police officers,” said Mateen Mujawar, a member of the NGO.
