Pune civic body begins H1N1 vaccination drive for pregnant women

Concerned officials of PMC have been trained for the vaccination campaign.

PMC has set up a few camps in various government hospitals for vaccinations against the flu for pregnant women.

With the spread of H1N1 flu in the city, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is gearing up to take measures particularly for the pregnant women. Since pregnant women in their first and third trimester are at a very high risk of catching the virus, PMC is taking every step to ensure that they don't get infected. The Pune Municipal Corporation has thus set up a few camps in various government hospitals for vaccinations against the flu for pregnant women.

The city has, in the last few days, witnessed a few deaths owing to the H1N1 virus. 

Following are the hospitals where women can get themselves vaccinated against the flu: 

1)    Chandumama Sonawane Hospital, Bhawani Peth 
2)    Kamala Nehru Hospital, Mangalwar Peth 
3)    Late Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, Yerawada 
4)    Sasoon General Hospital 
5)    Jayabai Sutar clinic, Kothrud 

Concerned officials and employees of the PMC have been trained for the vaccination campaign.
