PCMC to frame policy of imposing fines

Soon, ugly hoardings and images of politicians staring down from flex boards will be scarce in Pimpri-Chinchwad as the civic administration is framing a policy that will impose a heavy penalty on violators and those neglecting the beauty and safety of the city.
Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) plans to award severe punishment to those displaying flex boards and hoardings illegally.

Municipal commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi said, ”The licence and permission department has undertaken the task of formulating the policy. Fixed spots will be identified for hoardings and flex boards and accordingly the rates will be charged.”

The civic officials said the aim of the policy is to take action against those who neglect the beauty and safety of the city.
If the person who is allowed to put up a flex board fails to remove it on the given deadline, then the civic authority will remove it and collect the expenditure as well as fine from that person. The civic officials hope that the policy will help to increase revenue as well. The rights of taking action against illegal flex boards will be vested with the ward officer and the medical officer.

PCMC is also considering filing criminal cases against those who put up illegal flex boards.
