South Korea, PCMC to develop state-of-art sewage treatment plant

Pune: The Mayor of South Korean port city of Gunsan, Mun Dong-shin has expressed their willingness to assist PCMC in developing a state-of-art sewage water treatment plant for the twin town. This was told by PCMC Mohani Lande, who has just returned from a week long tour to Gunsan.
With the sister city agreement between Pimpri-Chinchwad and South Korean city of Gunsan completing ten years, PCMC Mayor, Mohini Lande with three corporators and a civic official had visited Gunsan city, from 21 to 24 July, on Mun Dong-shin invitation. The sister city agreement was signed between the PCMC and Gunsan in 2004. Earlier a delegation of Gunsan had visited Pimpri Chincwad.
During their Gunsan tour, Lande said PCMC team were received with a grand welcome.
"As the friendship agreement is completing ten years, one of the Gunsan city crossroad will be named as Pimpri-Chinchwad-Gunsan Friendship junction," she said.
Exchanging ideas related to city development during the tour, Lande informed that they had given a presentation on PCMC city to Gunsan delegates. During the tour PCMC team also visited Tata-Daewoo's factory in Gunsan.
Gunsan city is located on the western coast of Korean peninsula, 231km away from Seoul . It is a port city with 114 years of history. The PCMC-Gunsan agreement involves cultural exchange programmes and reciprocal cooperation in various fields of development.
