Vintage car exhibition at Pune mall excites visitors

Residents in love with vintage cars and bikes are queing up at the Phoenix Market City mall in Viman Nagar where vintage cars from across the world are on display. The exhibition will continue till August 30.

Speaking with iamin, Sanas, who is passionate about cars says that he has always loved collecting things. Even when he was a school student he loved to collect matchboxes. “I have been travelling around the world for the last 10 years to restore some great cars that I could lay my hands on. The cars at the exhibition have all been restored to their original condition including their upholstery,” he says proudly.

Each car in Sanas’ collection has a story behind it. Some were once owned by ministers while others belonged to leading Bollywood and Hollywood actors. The 12 cars on display are – the Dodge Kingsway Delux (1957) used by one of the cabinet ministers, Red Chevrolet Impala (1963) used by late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, 1934 model Austin, Chevrolet Spock (1927), Morris Minor 1000 Convertible (1963) in yellow, 300 CD Two Door Sport (1982) used by famous Bollywood celebrity Vinod Khanna, 190 D (Lefthand), 220 Compact Green (1970), London Taxi (2011), Hollywood Star, SL560 (1977) and 500SL (2004) used by Amitabh Bachchan.

Excited visitors are getting themselves clicked alongside the beautiful cars.
