Several other parts of India witnessed the year's last lunar eclipse on Tuesday. The eclipse began at 02:39 pm. While the total eclipse started at 3:46 pm. A lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth moves in between the Sun and the Moon.
While in a total lunar eclipse, the entire Moon falls within the darkest part of Earth’s shadow, called the umbra. When the Moon is within the umbra, it will turn a reddish hue. Lunar eclipses are sometimes called 'Blood Moons' because of this phenomenon.
