Gagan Narang's bronze has given him the "extra lift" he needed and Ronjan Sodhi, one of India's biggest medal hopes in the Olympic Games, will now look to not just emulate but better his colleague's achievement when he takes to the range for the double trap event here tomorrow.
"It has given the Indian shooting team the extra lift. All of them are excited and everyone is looking forward to doing well at their events," Sodhi has said ahead of his event at the Royal Artillery Barracks.
The cheerful marksman, in fact, felt that Narang's feat will inspire the entire Indian contingent.— PTI

Swimming: The most decorated Olympian, Michael Phelps has set up an enticing duel Thursday night with compatriot Ryan Lochte in the men's 200 metres individual medley
Both of them breezed into the final Wednesday with Lochte the fastest and Phelps third overall
Phelps had a slight advantage over Lochte after the butterfly and backstroke in the semifinal, and they were even coming out of the turn at the 100m mark

Shooting: After a promising start in round 3, Indian shooter Ronjon Sodhi fails to make to the finals of Double Trap
Sodhi finished 11th with the total of 134 in the qualification.
Rowing: South Africa powered to victory in the men's lightweight four final, holding off the favourites Britain and Denmark in a thrilling sprint for the line to win the country's first Olympic rowing title.
Saina Nehwal takes on Tine Baun at 1830 IST, while boxer Jai Bhagwan will take on Gani Zhailauov of Kazakhstan.
Boxing: Jai Bhagwan made a good start against Gani Zhailauov of Kazakhstan.in the first round. He got a few punches on the mark at the start of the round to take a 3-2 lead.
In round 2, the boxer comes under some heavy fire. His opponent shows his class with some powerful punches on Bhagwan's face to take a 10 points lead.
The score is 12-6 in favour of the Kazah boxer.
Shuttler Saina Nehwal's match has been delayed.

Tennis: Sania Mirza and Leander Paes cruised into the quarterf-finals of the mixed doubles after defeating Serbia's Ana Ivanovic and Nenad Zimonjic, 6-2, 6-4.
Badminton: Saina Nehwal has entered the quarter-finals of the women's singles in badminton after scoring 21-14, 21-16 victory over Yao Jie of the Netherlands.
Nehwal managed the feat in only 38 minutes.
