The biggest rivalry in English club football will be reignited as Liverpool take on historical arch-rivals Manchester United at the Anfield on Saturday. This will be the biggest match of gameweek 8 in the English Premier League 2017-18 season.

Though, both teams have had different sort of season so far- there is no doubt that it will be one of the most important matches of the season.

United sit second in the table - level on points with leaders Manchester City - after a superb start to the season, winning six of their seven opening games and scoring 21 goals in the process. But Jose Mourinho's side have not faced any of the five teams that finished ahead of them last season.

A big win for United will truly signal that the team is in serious contention this season and could well return to the top where it reigned for so many years during Alex Ferguson.

On the other hand, Liverpool will be desperate to make a statement against the Red Devils. Jurgen Klopp's side have been thrilling and infuriating in equal measure, with the brilliance of Liverpool's attack being hamstrung by a soft defence to sit seven points off the pace.

Still, form counts for little whenever United head to Anfield, and Liverpool know a win in their famous ground against Mourinho's men will send a message to the rest of the top flight.

United will be missing star players like Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick while Sadio Mane remains a notable miss owing to his hamstring injury for Liverpool.
