Boxer Amit Panghal won the 52kg category Gold at the Cologne World Cup after his German opponent Argishti Terteryan gave him a walkover

India's ace boxer Amit Panghal won a Gold medal at the Cologne World Cup in Germany without having to fight his final bout in the 52kg category on Saturday.

The World silver medalist was given a walkover by his German opponent Argishti Terteryan.

While Satish Kumar had to settle with silver medal as he failed to compete in the summit clash due to an injury in the +91kg category.

Satish made the final after beating France's Djamili Dini Moindze in the semifinal on Friday to set up the final clash against Germany's Nelvie Tiafack but had to withdraw against owing to an injury.

Whereas the Asian Games bronze medalist Pooja Rai had to settle with another bronze after going down to the Netherlands' Nouchka Fontijn. Boxers Mohammed Hussamuddin and Gaurav Solanki also ended with bronze medals in the men's 57kg category. 

Hussamuddin lost to local Hamsat Shadalov. Solanki, on the other hand, was defeated by France's Samuel Kistohurry. 

Apart from India and Germany, the event featured boxers from Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine.
