If you want to make it big, you start early. This was probably Rahul Dravid's mantra when he began his cricketing career to become one of India's batting legends.

And now, it looks like his son, Samit Dravid is set to follow the family ritual. Barely 11 years old, the youngster smashed 125 runs for his team  Bangalore United Cricket Club in Bangalore.

In the fifth edition of ‘Tiger Cup’, an initiative to combine developing cricket talent with creating awareness for tiger conservation, Samit, who will be 11 this October, hit 125 and remained the second-highest scorer for his side.

Pratyush G top scored with an unbeaten 143 and added 213 runs for the fourth-wicket with Dravid as the duo starred in a crushing 246-run win in the 30-over game against Frank Anthony Public School who were shot out for 80 in the chase.

Sixteen teams from school, and clubs, play in the U-12 and U-14 age categories in this tournament where a total of 117 matches are played in 35 days.

This is however not the first time that Samit stole the headlines. Last year, he was named the ‘Best Batsman’ in a U-12 Gopalan Cricket Challenge in September 2015. Playing for his school Mallya Aditi International, where students from 16 nationalities study, he hit three half-centuries – an unbeaten 77, 93, and 77, again, in the final, incidentally all the three fifties came in match-winning causes.

Rahul Dravid, spending time away from suspended team Rajasthan Royals, is currently mentoring another IPL side- Delhi Daredevils. He was also the head coach of India's U-19 team that reached the World Cup final earlier this year.
