BANGALORE: The Australian cricket team arrived here on Wednesday for a seven-match ODI series.
The visitors, who appeared jet-lagged after a flight from Johannesburg to here via Dubai, were given a traditional welcome at the team hotel, as 'nadaswaram' rent the air.
The players were welcomed with customary 'tilak' and garlands, as they walked in.
There was no media interaction.
"Australian skipper Ricky Ponting is slated to address a press conference here tomorrow," a local organising official said.
The first match of the one-day series would be held on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here.
The tourists are also slated to play a Twenty20 game.
The last time the two teams met was in the just-concluded Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa, where Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team beat Australia by 15 runs in the semi-final.
