Czech tennis star Barbora Krejcikova secured her first Wimbledon title after a hard-fought victory over Italy's Jasmine Paolini on Saturday, July 13th. The 2021 French Open champion triumphed over Paolini in three sets, with scores of 6-2, 2-6, and 6-4.

After a disappointing early exit from the French Open in 2024, former World No.2 Krejcikova made a remarkable comeback by claiming the prestigious title at SW19. She dominated the opening set with a score of 6-2, breaking Paolini's serve twice. Krejcikova started the match with a break to take a 1-0 lead, then continued to hold her serves and break Paolini once again to lead 4-1. Her strong performance on her first serve helped her secure the first set with a score of 6-2.

The 28-year-old Czech player secured a prize of £2.7 million (equivalent to over Rs 28.5 crore).
