BRISBANE: The egg throwing incident on Muralitharan has prompted the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to issue a warning to its players to be careful about their conduct.
"It's quite serious (Murali incident) but Cricket Australia is extremely capable of handling the situation. We have full faith in them but from our end, we are keeping a close eye on the matters. We have spoken to the team management to direct the boys to stay cool," BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said from India.
A group of Australian fans threw eggs at Muralitharan in Hobart as he was returning to his hotel last week. The BCCI wants Team India to be cautious especially after the racism row involving off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
It has asked the players not to get provoked and inform the team management if they are at the receiving end of any such mischief.
