After Union sports minister MS Gill, Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit too invoked God today for timely completion of the unfinished Commonwealth Games projects.

With several key infrastructure projects yet to be completed, Dikshit hoped "by grace of God" that her government will be able to complete all the works before October 3, the day the event begins.

"It has been raining very heavily which has affected our works. If rain stops and sun comes out then we should be able to complete all the work by September 10. Otherwise, we will have to extend the deadline.

"But we are confident by grace of God we will be able to finish everything before October 3," she told reporters.

Earlier this month during a discussion about the preparation for the event, Gill had told Rajya Sabha, "Have faith in India, India will get there. God is with us."
