Commonwealth Games Federation president Michael Fennell said on Saturday there was still a considerable amount of work to be done on buildings for the Games and there was great concern about the security and safety of athletes and officials.
"There is still quite extensive work to be done," Fennell told a news conference after he visited the Games Village.
"What is of great concern is the safety and security of athletes and officials."
Several athletes have pulled out of the event plagued by filthy accommodation, shoddy construction and security fears. The Indian government is rushing against time to ensure preparations are compelete ahead of the opening on October 3.
