Mohun Bagan, the newly crowned champions, came from behind to beat Mohammedan Sporting in the final match of the Calcutta Football League (CFL) 2018 season.
East Bengal also finished off their CFL 2018 campaign with victory on Tuesday.
Mohun Bagan, who had secured the title last week, made some changes to their side. Amey Ranawade and Gurjinder Kumar came in as full-backs while William Lalnufela and Darren Caldeira also started. They rested Henry Kisseka as Azharuddin Mallick partnered Aser Pierrick Dipanda up top.
The first half at the Salt Lake Stadium ended goalless.
Sporting took the lead in 71st minute as Philip Ajdah scored for the Black Panthers. The Mariners came back and equalised through Tirthankar Sarkar with left-footed goal from a 30-yard free-kick. Pintu Mahata then scored in the dying seconds of the regulation time to ensure an unbeaten run to the campaign for Mohun Bagan.
East Bengal beat Food Corporation
East Bengal finished six points behind Bagan in the CFL 2018 table. However, they finally returned to winning ways after a draw and two losses on Tuesday beating Food Corporation at the East Bengal gorund.
It was Joby Justin whose 12th-minute strike proved to be enough for the Red and Golds.
