South African-born Craig Kieswetter, who has just managed 69 runs in five innings against the Aussies, is reportedly under pressure to perform as Andrew Strauss' partner at the top of the order.

Kieswetter's form has slumped alarmingly after his spectacular efforts during England's triumph in the World Twenty20 in May.

According to The Sun, Kieswetter's place is under further scrutiny because Test keeper Matt Prior has been in magnificent batting form for Sussex in the Friends Provident T20.

Kieswetter was quoted as saying: "Matt has been batting brilliantly, so good on him. Competition is healthy. I don't feel pressure in a negative sense.

“I still have a lot of confidence - I didn't feel out of nick against Australia, I just didn't stay at the crease long enough. I learned some things tactically about pacing an innings and getting the team off to the best-possible start,” he added.
