Cricket Association of Bengal president Jagmohan Dalmiya today said the state body received Rs2 crore from the Kolkata Knight Riders for hosting Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the Eden Gardens but he did not know from where the money came.
"We got the money, but we don't know where it came from. The BCCI, which is the parent body and has been running the show, should know," Dalmiya told reporters here.
His statement comes after tax officials concluded their 8-hour searches this morning at the offices of Kolkata Knight Riders and CAB in connection with the IPL's finances.
Dalmiya described the present crisis engulfing Indian cricket as "most unpleasant", saying, "this is a very sad thing to happen in my entire career in cricket administration.
"It is not at all desireable. A lot of kite-flying and mud-slinging has been going on. You give me some time. I will respond to this in a few days," he said.
