Pacer Dale Steyn, who dashed West Indies hopes of posting a competitive total in its second innings and helped bowl South Africa to the brink of victory in the third Test, could be in a trouble after reportedly spitting at Windies spinner Sulieman Benn earlier in the day.
Steyn's dismissal during the South African innings in the first session of the third day's play at Kensington Oval sparked the controversy.
He and Benn became embroiled in a war of words, and the South African appeared to spit in the direction of the left-arm spinner, The Daily Telegraph reports.
The Windies hopes of posting a competitive total in its second innings were destroyed by Steyn, who captured 3-31 from nine overs, and off-spinner Johan Botha 3-34, as the West Indies, trailing by 115 runs in first innings, reached 7-134 in their second innings at the close of play.
The Proteas had been bowled out for 346 about 10 minutes after lunch, replying to the West Indies' first innings total of 231, with left-hander Ashwell Prince finishing unbeaten on 78, and Sulieman Benn ending with 6-81 from 46.4 overs.
Steyn then ripped away the top-order before Botha delivered the blows to the West Indies middle-order.
South Africa lead the three-Test series 1-0, after they won the first Test by 163 runs, and the second Test was drawn in St. Kitts.
