MUMBAI: Junior archer V. Pranitha of Steel Plant and veteran Dola Banerjee of Railways finally made the Olympic Games’ cut and will join L. Bombayla Devi of Railways in the Indian women’s recurve archery team at Beijing.
At the end of four days of trial at the SAI, Eastern Centre, the 17-year-old Pranitha stood first with a four-day total of 5167 out of a possible 5760 points. Dola, in making her second successive Olympics, was second with 5141 points.
According to information reching here, Punya Prabha of Uttar Pradesh, Chekrovolu Swuro of Nagaland and Reena Kumari of Railways were third, fourth and fifth with 5128, 5124 and 5119 respectively. Another junior Pratima Boro of Steel Plant was sixth with 5043.
