Two goals apiece by Nitish Jani and Thomes Agnelo propelled Our Lady Remedy, Kandivali, to a resounding 6-0 win over Thakur Mandir.

MUMBAI: Two goals apiece by Nitish Jani and Thomes Agnelo propelled Our Lady Remedy, Kandivali, to a resounding 6-0 win over Thakur Mandir, also from Kandivali, in a Group III F under-16 Mumbai School Sports Association’s inter-school football tournament at the St Francis D’Assisi High School, Borivali, here on Monday.

Jani and Agnelo scored a brace each after Bhavya Mehta and Ajit Singh netted a goal each as Our Lady Remedy boys registered the biggest win of the day when matches (under-12) at St Andrew’s High School, Bandra, and St Mary’s, Mazagaon, were rained off.

In a Group F tie, Sacred Heart, Santacruz, earned a hard-fought 4-3 win over Cambridge School, Andheri (E) in a closely-fought encounter.  Vivian Travaso scored a brace while Leon D’Souza and Arnold Fletcher contributed a goal each for the winners. A goal each by Nishant Shetty, Tejas Banekar and Abhishek Jadhav featured in the Cambridge boys’ fightback

St Mary’s, Dahisar, defeated St Anthony’s, Malwani, 3-1 in Group-G while St Anthony’s, Vakola, got the better of Chatrbhuj NM, Juhu, 4-1 in Group-H.
