The Enforcement Directorate has issued summons to suspended CWG Organising Committee Joint director general TS Darbari, a close aide of OC chairman Suresh Kalmadi, in connection with its probe into financial transactions relating to Games Queen's Baton Relay in London.

Official sources said Darbari has been asked to explain certain financial transactions undertaken during the QBR held in London last year.

His name has figured in the investigations into alleged irregularities into services provided then.

The ED move came after the Indian High Commission in London wrote to the Ministry of External Affairs about a contract given to an event management firm there.

This has been done in the wake of the British authorities referring to the High Commission a matter regarding A M Films, a little-known London-based company, to which a huge some of money was transferred through the Royal Bank of Scotland.

The authorities in London have already begun a probe into the firm and had contacted the India High Commission which subsequently forwarded the details to the Sports Ministry here for follow-up action.

The OC today decided to suspend Kalmadi's key aides Darbari, Deputy Director General Sanjay Mohindroo and M Jaychandran, Joint Director General (Accounts and Finance) in the wake of corruption charges against them in connection with the Queen's Baton Relay in London.
