England coach Andy Flower has gone against his initial plan to pick a full-strength side and will now field a second-string team of mainly up-and-coming players.

England coach Andy Flower is likely to omit batsman Kevin Pietersen and other top stars from the squad for this month’s two Twenty20 internationals against the West Indies.

The two Twenty20s are scheduled for September 23 and 25 at The Oval.

According to The Sun, Flower has gone against his initial plan to pick a full-strength side and will now field a second-string team of mainly up-and-coming players.

The West Indies has already named a squad missing many star names.

Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Lendl Simmons, Adrian Barath, Darren Bravo and Ravi Rampaul have not been included in the party.

Chris Gayle has also been left out as he remains out of favour following a row with the board.
