Explosive all-rounder Daniel Christian has been called up for Australia's two Twenty20 matches against the West Indies.

The hard-hitting South Australian was rewarded for his form in both Twenty20 and one-day cricket on the domestic scene by being named in the 14-man squad.

Australia finish the home summer with Twenty20 matches in Hobart on Sunday and in Sydney on Tuesday - key parts of the build-up to the World Twenty20 Championship in the Caribbean from April 30-May 16.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the selectors added former New South Welshman Christian, 26, to the squad that defeated Twenty20 world champions Pakistan at the MCG earlier this month.

"We have added Dan Christian to the squad as we continue to look at various options and the balance of the team leading into the ICC World Twenty20," said chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch.

"Dan has been selected on the back of a successful Twenty20 Big Bash campaign for South Australia and continued good form recently."
