Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin has tied the knot for the third time, says a report in Maharashtra Times.
According to the report, Azhar, who was previously married to Naureen and then actress Sangeeta Bijlani, has now married Shannon Marie, an American citizen.
Azharuddin and Shannon have reportedly been friends since 2013. They were first photographed together on a vacation in Paris in 2013. However, back then, Shannon Marie had claimed that Azhar was just a friend.
Azharuddin's driver Jaan Mohammad died in an accident in September. On Saturday, Azhar visited his driver's family in Shamli to offer condolences. Maharashtra Times reports that Marie was with him when he made this visit. Since she was covered in a burqa, she could not be recognised immediately.
However, after much speculation about the identity of the burqa-clad woman, Azhar introduced her as Shannon Marie, his wife.
Azhar was found guilty of match-fixing in 2000 and was subsequently banned from cricket for life. The ban was overturned in 2012 but Azhar's career was over by then.
