World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Bray Wyatt tragically passed away on Thursday, as confirmed by Paul "Triple H" Levesque, the company's chief content officer, through a heartfelt social media announcement. Wyatt, a beloved figure in the wrestling world, was only 36 years old.
Reports from TMZ indicate that Mr. Wyatt's untimely demise was a result of a heart attack.
Paul Levesque posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) a few hours ago: "Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life, Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, unexpectedly passed earlier today. Our thoughts are with his family, and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time."
According to ESPN, Wyatt, whose real name was Windham Rotunda, had been inactive in WWE for several months due to an undisclosed health issue. He had been a part of WWE since 2009, with the exception of a surprising release in 2021 and 2022. However, Rotunda made a triumphant return to WWE last September, captivating fans with a mysterious storyline and cryptic vignettes that significantly boosted television ratings.
TMZ reports that Wyatt achieved great success in WWE, becoming a three-time world champion. He held the prestigious WWE Championship once and the Universal Championship twice. During a brief hiatus from August 2018 to April 2019, Wyatt reinvented himself with a new character known as The Fiend.
Wyatt's wrestling lineage is deeply rooted. His father, the legendary Mike Rotunda, is a Hall of Famer in the industry. Continuing the family tradition, his grandfather, Blackjack Mulligan, made a significant impact as a professional wrestler. Additionally, his uncles, Barry and Kendall Windham, also pursued successful careers in the wrestling world, as reported by the news outlet.
